Propane Comes Through Again!
Just saw the latest KOTH. It features a propane themed video game, that can be played online with multiple Hank Hills. Man, I gotta get a copy of that! If there isn't one I need to carve out a career in gaming and write one!
The gal I'm seeing did see Idiocracy.
And she didn't even dump me when I told her I saw it. I rule!

Idiocracy
See this movie. It's by Mike Judge. It is so simplistic that it is good. That is what's needed here. Ya see, where I live we're way ahead of the curve. Our local shitrag newspaper and many TV stations admire criminals, blame the police, villify those that stand up to the criminals, and will not stand for any academic achievement. So we're ahead of this movie by about 500 years.

So the Browns got Brady Quinn. Probably a good choice. The line picks were getting scrawny and I don't think their incumbent quarterbacks will ever amount to much. Haven't been impressed from what I've seen from Quinn mostly because Notre Dame was having their heads handed to them on the games I saw. JaMarcus was one impressive QB, from what I saw, which was Louisiana State in a bowl game (sorry, Hank). I like the name also. If I had a son I'd name him JaMarcus. We could get JaMocha shakes. And visit JaMaica. Anyway, he's impressive. The later linesmen available in the draft were getting scrawny.

Offensiveness
Faster than most guys over 300 lbs., more mightier than other draft picks at his position... Up in the sky... Is it a Quarterback? Is it another overrated superduperstar that wipes out like a dumbass on a motorcycle in the off-season? No! It's OFFENSIVE LINE MAN! Yep, looks like a good common sense pick in the first round. Now to get more protection for the QB. Must follow the principle that not matter how talented the Quarterback, he can't make completions while throwing from a horizontal position.Labels: Football, Hype

It's a Spearmitment!
Quality in all we put into production. It's a spirit, it's a commitment, it's Spearmitment! But don't take our word on it. And we have our blood oath to never, ever stall installation into production, no matter what has been left out.
How do we do it?
We lie our ass off. Offering the finest lip service to both quality and speed, we serve the latter. Occasionally it hoists a bigshot onto the rug of blame, but with intense Six Smegma Sloganeering we reassure users and execs alike of our dedication to quality. Honest.
You have our word on it. The highest quality databases available within this organization. And if not, we'll jerry-rig the statistics to prove it.

I got the memorial services going, I think. At least spoke to the Rabbi, who was greatly relieved for a break from the tedium of budgeting meetings. Deposited a load of puns on Erica's blog regarding Crow's sanitation proposal. Do I have better things to do with my time than wait for a really stupid remark, then let fly with Junior High School Humor? No. I do not.

Yarzheit time again. Already. This time is the memorial for my dad. I've got a good long lead of over a month to kvetch my shul into getting the date correct, and mentioning him at services, etc. Do not underestimate this task! They're batting around 0.500.
My sisters aren't big on this. At least the one here. You know, he was a man that came to the good ole USA late with no skills and made good. He was healthy to the end, and full of witticism in his old world/midwest way. I'll never forget him telling me about my lame-ass ex brother in law,
"I want to beat the shit out of him". You don't get subtelty like that any more. I guess he wasn't big into political correctness. And of course he had actuall touched a gun, once upon a time. During WWII. Serving the entire time. I mean from 1939 - 1945. And most likely used it to kill some of those forces that murdered his parents and sisters and brothers. Some realtives did and may still want to bury that service. That's a shame on them. He doesn't have a Memorial Day, so this is also kind of his Memorial Day.
So for me, it's worth the effort, and I remember him fondly.
The kid was here during the weekend, and it went nicely. The school year is screaming to a close and she applied for work at the doughnut shop. Coming soon:
Cappy Gains Weight.Work continues to continue, which is good. Gonna invite the girl from the next town over up here for drinks, &etc. I always like &etc.Labels: Babe Magnet, Kumbiyah

The back keeps getting worse, then better at random times. It's kind of a waste, since I don't have a wife and therefore don't need an excuse to sleaze my way out of chores. Seriously, this is getting in the way of getting normal stuff done. The kid spent most of the weekend ushering at the High School play. Plans are being wrapped up for the summer and later.

Xtra Credit
Here's my kid's extra credit assignment for English. She baked a cake for Shakespeare's birth and death day. She talks and writes good. I don't know where she gets the talent.

Less drama now, and less baggage too. Things is normal. Big migration to the technology of the future now hitting the reality phase. Who would have thought? Could it be

Baggage Dump
But on a more serious note folks, we have the case of Alec Baldwin chewing out his kid in a voice mail message. I wouldn't have done it, but here's my take on some of this.
Kim Bassinger has been charged with contempt of court for violating a parenting agreement. The case has lingered more than two years. In particular, she is charged with bad mouthing her daughter's father (Alec Baldwin). This is a criminal charge.
Baldwin has the money to pursue this case. Most divorced parents don't have that. This is the legal recourse for this violation. He pursued that recourse.
I've often discussed this with my attorney because the ex-wife frequently told my daughter a lot of crap about me, sometimes in front of me. I was made aware by this attorney that nothing would ever come of it. From what I have learned, this is true.
No doubt Baldwin is mad at his kid. He verbalized this and has not physically punished her. His ex, on the other hand has a criminal charge pending.
Damn glad I put on the asbestos underwear before posting this!

OK. False alarm on icing down those parts. The back showed up in working order this morning. Nothing else going on. Good.

Tired today. Possibly wrenched back yesterday, and was out late with the girl from far away. It was far away. Now icing down the parts that hurt.
No, wrong parts.

Shut my trap!
Or, replaced it. The clog is gone and now I have more plastic plumbing. Comedy tomorrow night. No snow lately.

I need to get my pipes cleaned. If a home repair can't be done with propane, fuck it. This may be a good time to marinate my steaks.

Time to bag the snaking and sink unclogging for now. Also time to get a real sink with a pop-up. Maybe they can throw in some pop-tarts. Lasagna still working it's way through. I saw 300 today. Good film. Haven't seen so much gore since some of the Order Entry rewrites in the 1980's. The good guys win. For some reason I wanted a gyros afterward.

Cookies
keep screwing up my Blogger sign-in. And I don't have room for cookies of any variety after hosting friends from out-of-town last night. Still working on that 7lb. 8oz lasagna. I'll tackle that bathroom sink later, after more stuff.

Oh, and this too..
Still seeing the girl from far away that works the graveyard shift at the wacky ward. No. She did not meet me there. Honest. Nice gal, and this is not a Brady Bunch type thing. If you understand that you are probably blogging in Cobol. Lotsa trips to the local comedy club.

More Home Repairs
didn't go so well. Damn, if only that snake were propane driven! I've about had it with the bathroom sink, and repeated power snakings done clumsily mean that 50's or 60's vintage porcelean will have to go. Need to stick to software. No comments, please. I'm still not at the Dale Gribble level.
Speaking of which, went back to work today. The building was still standing. My daughter had a good stay here and there was no drama after Sunday. No drama is good drama. Friends are coming in from out of town tomorrow and will get together with them. Not going to negotiate getting my kid for that since the ex would bring in much drama.
Also in the Dale Gribble category, the family get together included a spectacular tin-foil hat exposition from relatives and their friends. Blamed Bush, cited the conspiracy against the electric car
(what they really won't tell you is about the car that runs on water!) and how crime is good. The last one from a relative that wants to run everything. Yeah. The only running will be from taxpayers in this county, because that's the prevailing opinion among the stupid liberals that are in charge. Taxpayers run like hell for the county line.
Last of the original batch of beer finished off last night. Now for the real stuff!
Just noticed Blogger's Hindi transliteration feature.

All my apointed tasks are complete for this vacation, now it's fun in the melting snow for CaptainSQL and his daughter. The ex has gone way out of line in a big fight with my daughter, so now it looks like the foot may be on the other hand. Things are pretty dull otherwise. April is a dull month. But, compared to drama, dull is often good.

After much digging (2 times today!) attained midday meal at sisters, with daughter in tow. A mininum of Kumbiyah. Only 30 seconds of ranting at President Bush. Not too awfull. The ex exploded like a firecracker, scaring my kid. Looks like the old ex still has plenty of drama left in her.

Dig It!
Snow, and plenty of it! Cappy here in Porchville, on vacation. Dug out yesterday after a day of fun and sofa shopping with the kid. Came home to a driveway I couldn't ram through, so on go the gloves and out goes the shovel, followed by my back later. More today after the family get together. Now I gotta go surf Free Republic to inure myself to relatives with Bush Derangement Syndrome.

Cappy Takes a Vacation
or at least a few days off. My kid will be here from tomorrow PM through Wednesday for spring break, so now is a good time to take off. My baby sister will be in town too. I introduced her to KOTH, and now she's another satisfied fan. The other sister has been potchkieing around in Canada, doing god-knows what. Meanwhile, while she was gone, we've turned into a frozen wasteland again. Good. Another excuse for not doing yard work or tarring the garage roof.
Michele has gotten through the flimsy haze of goofy blog commenting errors. Glad to see she's able to contribute the always welcome cogent comment of communication. Now if I only sounded like Howard Cosell!

Midweek
Nothing much new here. Off for half of next week for the kid's spring break. Passover is underway.

Monday, April 02, 2007
Ahhhhhh, much better!
Post on-call martinis have been deployed, KOTH ingested, and it lived up to it's promise. All better now. All that remains is to make Michele's comments appear with patience, detailed technical analysis, and vicious beatings applied to the offshore help desk.

Now I Can Die
a happy man. New King of the Hill episode on the way, this time with
ZZ Top! It's about time! Man, with YouLube on the loose it's a damn good thing we didn't make that send-up video of "Legs" back in the mid-80's. KOTH and ZZ Top! Featuring Cotton Hill! What could be better? What could be better is if the stupid commenting software would allow Michele from New York to complete commetns here or on Erica's blog. I don't know what is preventing this but do suspect those commie bastards at Google. Don't make me come over there, guys!Labels: King of the Hill, single line editors are for men
