Still running around like crazy. Listening to Brubeck now. Like this guy sez. I heartily concur. Stand corrected after the latest visit to WallMart. It's not only beer and Clamato, it's all of the above with lime and salt! See, that makes it all better. Also found, and hopefully lost at WallMart: Boones Farm.

I Can't Handle It Any More

Mike Judge has done it again. How some of the peeps around here haven't caught on and sued for defamation of character only shows how stupid said peeps are. Last night's Goode Family episode could only mean Judge has been hanging out around here, possibly in the homes of some relatives. Gerald and Helen completely incorporate the trope with which I've become sickeningly familiar in lo these many years of living in BlueLand. Basically, the theme was "we can all learn from this unemployed worthless bum". Also, I am completely morphing into Helen's dad on the show, played by Brian Doyle-Murray. I mean, how many times have I heard the vomitous "we can all learn from murdering terrorists/winos/derelicts/poo-flinging monkeys/pigeons/rats/vegans/lice/Kucinich/inanimate objects"? This one also throws in said bum named Heinrich Mueller, which the Goodes worship also because he's a much more"evolved" Euro-Peon. Go ahead, click the link. Charming.

So how does this impact my drinking? That's the most important question. I like my Martinis dry, with a twist, and the best ones are in the People's Republic. But given the summer responsibilities Martini time starts when The Goode Family signs off. Damn hard to sit through the other barflies incessant whining about a free press after watching Mike's latest masterpiece.

More dragging through the bullshit from the High School. Very unstraightforward responses. My kid has put in for duly stamped transcript for one course online. Big pain in the ass. Too unusual for attorneys to understand, or even complain about online or in a bar.

Still My Daddy

Still My Daddy

Shared via AddThis

I got this today from my daugter, for Fathers Day. It is the best Fathers Day gift ever.

P.S. to very personalized rant below. The petty beerocrat counsellor had a major league stickittodaman attitude problem what was the cause of many complaints against her, none by me either. I'm just friggin' sick and tired of getting this in the face at every turn in this deep blue town and it is a big reason many businesses and productive people won't locate here. Possibly me in the future.

Weekend Fail

One of the great things about being older is that every fail isn't the end of the world. Take this weekend. Please. Thursnite started out nice. Both sisters were over, without even more Goode Family like relatives attached. Middlesis was zonked out from work, littlesis from her trip in from ChiTown. Overall, it was nice. My daughter enjoyed it too. I think. And so it looked like the first post-graduation week was wrapping up nicely. And with a surplus of pizza in the fridge that is still feeding me. Only Friday to get through, so what could go wrong?

Pick up my daughter from a Clinic seminar Friday afternoon. This should have been a nice break from work, and a chance to shmooze with other kids in the program. She was tense, and pouty, so I knew something was up. About halfway home she spills the beans. Spoiler Alert for several cheezy teen movies, and many adults recurring nightmares.

As background, this girl worked her tushy off last year doubling up on courses so she could finish High School a year early, because she wanted a more religious life at a top university. And she toally did that. She accomplished her goal. The school administration for the most part was wonderfully supportive. Actually, they got back to us same day. You won't even get that service when paying bigh $$$$ to private industry, so these top guys at the school deserve a lot of credit, and I give them that recognition.

Only one presented any obstacle to her doing early grauation. One guidance counsellor really seemed to have a bone in her throat about this. If only it was a literal bone in the throat! Anyways, long story short, my daughter accomplishes what she needs at school and the Principal verifies she has the credits. In fact, he ordered her diploma two weeks even before I asked him is she could participate in gruaduation! He deserves a lot of kudos for this!

So graduation was a week ago last Thursday. The Superintendant certified that all participating had met graduation requirements. Everything was above board. And we had a great time and lived happily ever after.

Until yesterday afternoon. The "Guidance Office" called my kid and told her she needed wait for it.... an extra half credit to graduate. I put this in the category of bullshit. This girl's progress for the last year has been totally under the microscope. She gave up being Valedictorian in 2010, and all the ceremonial graduation honors to meet her objective. All the free time she sacrificed could have gone to more activities, or more competitions, or a job, or learning to drive, or just hanging out and being a kid.

So I wonder if this strange audit of her transcript was a going away gift from the Counsellor. This woman will not be a Counsellor next year. She was demoted to proctoring online classes for the kids at one of the districts "alternative" High Schools. Which means she is Vice President of Sitting By The Door. I heard she made a lot of inappropriate remarks to students in the last couple of years and all my kid's teachers seemed to be on to her. I never complained about her because the administration bigshots have been great guys. But this kind of review one week after the diplomas were certified seems strange.

Isn't that the way of the petty tyrant? The misplaced paperwork. The "misunderstanding". The arms crossed "This is our policy. We know it runs counter to the rules. And maybe the law. But what are you going to do? Huh?" attitude Americans have come to know and loathe so much.

And of course they dumped this on my kids on a Friday afternoon, when she couldn't do anything about it but get burned up. It burned me up plenty. Who the fuck goes over already certified diplomas once kids have graduated?

More fail today. Girlfriend was going to see Land of the Lost with me, but has a sick dog. With all the crap yesterday I don't know if I would have been the best company today. So I head out to the other side of town to go to a techie picnic which is on some church grounds. I gets there, and find myself almost crashing some Eastern Orthodox wedding.

Is it Monday yet?

Had the sisters at the house tonight, and delivered the bask t of goodies as a birthday gift. It all went pretty well. I was happy about that. My kid is certainly getting a dose of the real world at work. Good. And it's a pretty good experience at The Clinic. Rolled the ex out of rehab today. Daughter is still with me over weekend but going away for Shabbos. Meanwhile, the girlfriend and I will enjoy Land of the Lost on Saturday. Those bastards at ABC shifted The Goode Family to Frinite without telling me!

Also, apparently The Plain Dealer cannot give away it's peacenik, anti-American, StickItToDaMan rag at any cost. Last weekend was the third time the garbage appeared in my driveway, and the third week I kicked it to the curb. With glee. These bastards are inhabiting a local drug store trying to give away the crap during the week. Not many takers. Certainly not me.

Welcome to Bermuda

You rotten terrorists. Yeah, that's the ticket. Train to murder Americans, and get punished with a life in paradise, thanks to a terrorist loving President. Paid for by my gotdamm money. Can't really express myself properly. Am outsourcing commentary to Roger Miller.

Also, with littlesis in town this week massive piles of Kumbiyah underway at a family get together. Expect big time complaining here.

Another fine weekend weather wise. Even more kudos have come in for my kid. Her mom is still recovering, and I'm recovering this weekend too from driving all over the place during the week. Services last night were nice. Girlfriend and I took her grandson to the Parade the Circle today. Wow, it's really expanded. Very big deal now.

LittleSis will be here this week for middleSis birthday. Much Kumbiyah ahead. Since January 20th of this year I have come to the conclusion that those with common sense need to organize a group to break into the residences of leading Kumbiyistas and remove all sharp object. It's for their own safety. Really. They are as a group too stupid to use them safely. Barring that, let us video them using said object and put it on YouseTube.

Dad's Yarzheit (memorial service) coming up this Friday. Very busy at home taking the papoose here and there, and yonder. I do miss him, although that time was 19 years ago. He's been through a lot, WW2 vet, survivor, provider, dad. They do make men like him these days, but you don't run into them as often. It seems like we glorify the slacker, and we are much worse off for it.

My opinion, anyway.

All Done

Graduation has been accomplished. And boy, are my arms tired. It has been stone cold crazy. But good crazy. Got her through the practice, then picked up the boquet and dropped her off for delivery with her class. Then I picked up her mom. who has been in rehab. Back she went afterward. Anyways, I had to not bring the big, embarrasing sign I had made. Too much crap to carry anyhow.

This was at one of the big old theaters on Playhouse Square. Another High School was having theirs simultaneously at the same time two doors down. But this worked out so both didn't let out at the same time. Because she accelerated a year she didn't get noted on any of the honors pages, but basically gave up being the valedictorian for 2010 to finish early and go to college. If she had been a Senior all year she would have been salutorian for 2009 easily. On the way down, all her classmates were so ticked that she didn't get note in the program so they elected her a Minority Scholar, which is about the only honor she didn't pick up. Not bad for a wise woman, who isn't even a Latina. Under the Cardozo Lemma Sephardic doesn't count.

Due to holding down a job, the logistics for the week of honors, and taking the daughter to her mom in rehab I didn't get a chance to shop for a present. And it's hard to top all the ones she earned earlier in the year.

Because of the Clinic internship she and another girl had to take two finals yesterday. So she ended up taking finals after actually graduating. Her science teacher stuck his head in the door for the math final and yelled. A couple minutes later the math teacher came back. All she said was :Was He Here? Then she took off after him. He needed the head start.

Later I did get a vase for the boquet. It was really pretty. The cat tolerated the boquet and vase for almost an hour. Then I swept up the shards and headed off for martinis.

Yesterday was the big Clinic reception, tomorrow daughter's HS Graduation. I am one happy and proud dad. Work very laid back, which is good given all the big doings this week. Summer is going to be a long, dry stretch, doing transportation for the daughter's Clinic internship. The ex is disabled now but will be loose on the streets for the gruduation.

The gal I'm seeing is taking care of her grandson while her son defends the United States of America. Her son is a fine young man and she is rightfully proud of him. The grandson is one cute kid, running all over the place like a little boy should. Still trying to work out how to get together. That schedule is going to be dicey, but I really like the gal. And I'm going to be pretty busy in the transportaion business this summer myself.

How about a nice, refreshing

glass of puke in a can? Saw this today at the local Wal-Mart. Who thinks this up? Who can keep it down?
