Hey, stopped by my favorite bar for drinks tonight. Got a piece of advice: the Velvet Tango Room is really on the West Side, not pretty much in a straight line along the way from my place and this gal I'm seeing out there. If one were to bisect the line. Been wanting to check out that place. Live jazz has been withering around here for some time.
Also, watch as TBDBITL clocks the friggin' media, Woody Hayes style! Frank Cosenza takes it to meida whorebags. How's that feel, Mr. Elite Media? You just got served a point of humiliation!

The Colts Fan sent a collection of these baby's to my daughter. Is he trying to get on my good side, or what? I would say it's working.
Uncertain if I'm even going to waste time watching the start of the Browns game today.

Much happier effort against the Gophers today!

Weakend Football
OSU threatening. May actually score again. Pretty sad effort against the Gophers. OK. Here we go. Pryor just ran it in. Meanwhile, been helping educate my daughter about football. She's seeing a rabid Colts fan. One good sign: she's picked up on strategy well. Tomorrows strategy: divert attention away from the friggin game by going somewhere else, so as not to be humiliated by the Browns. Also, gotta check with my sources to see if all that Baltimore lore followed the Colts, like in Diner:

Count Sore Throat Pain visited today, just in time for one of those vacation days I hoarded after the big collapse last year. Very laid back day. Drove out to Burton, Middlefield and Mespo, for all that great leaf peeping color and real food. Immobile now. Worth every bit of it. Probly Marinis tonight as I ease into a football weekend. Yesterday say the new Vince Vaughn movie. Too much relationship bafflegab, but the guy is always funny.
May have come to the realization that continued fooling around with hands on tech and database outside the job may only be an Uncle Rico moment. How many more oversold projects from stupid project managers do you want to lose sleep over?

It's Worse than That, Cappy
It's dead. Pronounced dead by the course instructor, the Lollipop SQL Guild, and "Bones" McCoy. No way around this technology download BS in this release of the Operating System. What a piece of crap. Wrecked the week, too. Bad tired Tuesday because of aggrivation Monday carrying over into sleepytime. Yeah, I still get worked up about these things. Very wussy yesterday, maybe because of left over sleep dep. Last night though, two nightmares. Don't have 'em too often. These were not the scary type. They were the lonely type.
#1 was at a current version of my first I.T. job. I was in a small, modern office overnight. Dark and alone, wondering why I was there. I knew my boss had died a while ago (which happened in real life). #2 was longer running. I was at my current age, living in a boarding house/dormitory above a Sizzler in St. Louis. The lady next door worked there. They announced a kegger since they were closing down to become a casino. I went up to my room and wandered the halls. Also wondered why I was there when my job was in other cities. Anyway, I know I slept last night.
So, I've got a couple long weekends here. Guess I'll read up on the next version of my current technology, and also fool around with some programming. May also pay a little visit to another technology and try a download. I'm a little burned out from the screwing around with class. Do like the gal I've been seeing lately, but her neighbors sound dicey. I'll have to survey the situation. Seem to be running into a lot of that lately. Maybe this burg is sliding further into the dumper.
Is it just me, or do the remaining leftists others know also seem to be getting flakier. I'm not talking about politics or The President now. Just seems like almost all conversations turn to really edgy bullshit. Stuff sounds like celebrating mental illness, being a wastrel, confusion about sexuality. Got no time for that bullshit. Seriously, not for me. Don't even want to be near it. Also, I don't know why they are so whoopsed up about evolution. I don't know anyone else who is, either pro or con. That includes all Christians and Jews I know. Nobody sees it as a big deal, one way or another.

More technical complications. Thanks to the last couple of them I'm into the first week of the course and the downloaded softwared isn't working too well. Locking me out of permissions on my own goddam computer! May be time to cancel class and check out alternative stuff to fool with.

Cappy stands correctable: the last time some Ohio team slipped ahead of The Buckeyes in rankings was back in 04, when the BGSU Falcons were ranked, but the Bucks were not. Maybe it is ancient history after all, back in those days of yore when we had a President that actually loved the USA.
Browns fall to the hated Steelers today, but still better than having that shitty slacker Braylon Edwards on the team. Others are stepping up.
Beercats poised to possibly maintain or move up the BCS rankings, as Pitt and WVU make their presents known.

Due to Technical Difficulties
This weekend sucks, to this point. OSU humiliated itself vs. Purdue. My online course, for which I paid was a no-show today. Check engine light showed up too.
Screw it. Off to a beer and food event soon.

All registered for an online tech course at a nearby college. Free downloads and mickey mouse coursework haven't satisfied, as I continue the unending hunt to add points and recentness to a nascient resume what needs it in the event of headcutcounts next year. I hope it doesn't come to that. Also, just have the old Programming Jones.
Freedom is at hand. Only a couple of months of Child Support. Folks, it hasn't been fun. But in any evenuality of headcutcounts, at least I won't go to the pokey if the income drops or is otherwise disrupted. I got off easy lo these many years. It was a choice of this car or that one, not having food on the table or not.
Babe magnitude offering up interesting results. That pretty much means, gals living in situations where I don't want to be. Some of which are damn depressing. Tonight, I get my shots, make sure my passport is stamped, and head off to the strange and exotic other side of town.
Pure Prarie League now announces a concert in a decent sized city. Chillicothe. Hot damn.

Browns win today in a game that really sucked. Maybe if they got the Nobel Peace Prize it would help their delicate self esteem.

I hereby award
The Astonishingly Shiny Cup of All Cups to the States of Bihar, Goa and Orissa, all of whose residents yesterday expertly proferred Database Excellence to Me, Captain SQL, based on their hiring by FlyByNightConsulting Ltd., and their graduation from Close Cover Before Striking University. Their stupid fucking code timed out because they are stupid, trying to pull millions of rows in a merge scan join across an 800 Baud dial up line, thereby wrecking the application for the day but saving the company literally tens of dollars through cheap labor. First thing every man jack of them did was crawl all over the catalog.
What about the authorizations tables Cappy? What does that do?
Does this really have to access table statistics?
Dumbass!
Here's a thought for you, Skippy. Stick to your fucking job. Do SQL. It's easy. Here are your statements, aptly illustrated by the Captain SQL Department of Apt Illustration:
SELECT: As in SELECT TO-DO-MY-JOB from MY.SKILL-SET
UPDATE: As in UPDATE MY.EMPLOYMENT SET PROJECT='ONE-THAT-I-CAN-HANDLE'
INSERT: As in INSERT (CAPTAIN, SQLS, FOOT) INTO YOUR.ASS
DELETE: As in DELETE CURRENT OF OVERSOLD-BULLSHIT-CONTRACTORS FROM THIS-PLANET.

I Deserve the Nobel Prize
|Thursday, October 08, 2009
Busy week. Traded the frustration of getting the latest DBMS tech to work on my laptop with the frustration of navigating my ass to an apporpriate class at a local college. What a pain thereof. But I've got the time. Daughter going back to the big city Monday. Gonna be quiet after that. I'll find a way to keep busy.
We fobbed off Braylon Edwards on NYC. Because I'm sure the Jets fans will be more tolerant and understanding of his fear of getting hit, and also fear of the ball. Yeh. You bet.

I thought it was about time for another pie chart.
Leading football question of the day: How far up Braylon's ass will LeBron shove his foot?

Charming daughter home for a couple of weeks now. She's a very busy girl, what with college and whatnot. But not too busy to create a couple of the cutest model Sukkahs ever. The one on the right is a combo Sukkah/Perry Nuclear Plant.
Also, she is in love. Now I have to clean up all the dang rainbows and hearts and birdies littering the house. Seems like a nice boy. He's from our neighboring state, Indiana, which the Buckeyes will decimate in 24 hours. He's one of those smooth and debonair Hoosier Boys. It can only mean one thing: more corn storage.
