Spent all yesterday tracking down Urgent Care, which was worth it. Inhaler + antibiotics made breathing a lot easier last night, leading to sleep, finally. Also, more oxygen too. So much better breathin oxygen than Argon or Sulphur Dioxide. Browns win, yay! Kid on the way back from the Big City.

Still Haven't
Taken advantage of that free Hindi transliteration from Blogger. The computer is back home where it belongs and that grinding sound wasn't the hard drive. Head is stuffed up and nose runny. That condition in Cleveland is known as normal. Survived the holiday season Kumbiyah nonsense. Turns out the local greenies here are probably more pissed off at the existence of Legacy Village than the existece of the President. Lady, those taxes pay for my kid's classes! Kid in NYC now, and in Connecticut, on the loose. MSU hanging tough against the ranked Boston College in the Champs Sports Bowl now.

Not much blogging lately. My kid is with me while her mom recovers from surgery. It's great having here here but the daily visits to the ex have really taken a toll, along with faulty snow removal and false Check Engine error codes. Blogging may slow down further as I take my PC in for inspecting the hard drive. It's making those wheezing sounds again. STP helped with it last time but this time around it needs attention before things go dark.
Sister will be here this week. Need to fortify against Kumbiyah. The beer came out okey-dokey. Not too bad. No fatalaties at least.

Cappy Named King of BCS
Orders all subsequent BCS Championships to be played at Soldier Field. This is a big promotion from simply being King of BS. So suck it in you warm weather conferences. "Waah, wahh! Mommy, it's cold!"

The End of an Era. I hope
Met with the ex last Thursday about the one big legal hoohah relating to our daughter. It turns out this is not going to be more drama. In fact, it's not an issue at all. This is very good. Most importantly, it's good for our kid to finally be out of the legal toing and froing. Also very much easier on Captain SQL's nerves.
That doesn't let any of the ex's enablers off the hookah, in my mind. It's bigger than that. Those people built and supported the drama and shizzle that has been a plague for the last 12 years and aren't under the nice protection of the Parenting Agreement, so unlike the ex, they're targets. My daughter has already discovered how full of shit most of these people are. Of course there's alienation. You can't be force fed a diet of that BS your entire life and not have it.
And that brings us to the subject of (yecch) politics. The non-execution of the laws that that protect against parental alienation were and are not a mistake. Moses didn't bring 'em down from Mt. Sinai, and I'm pretty sure Jesus and Bhudda didn't provide 'em either. Yes, it's human beings, or, alternatively the weepy-pie social workers and Domestic Relations judges that have implemented this (as opposed to real humans). The same is true all over. Witness what happened to Acidman before he died. Look at the crap Rudy Giuliani is getting. Of course his kids are distant. They've been encouraged to view him as the enemy every step of the way. It is a tennant of the Democrat Party here and across the country, Man bad/Woman victim/good. They built it. They love it. They live by it. Now I'm deeply into this rant, and have to say that they and their candidates all have the stink of parental alienation on them. So don't expect me to be voting for them soon. Also, it seems that a lot of them have a deep shame at being an American. It don't share that, and don't want anything to do with it or them.
End of Rant.

Meanwhile, while OSU prepares
for it's BCS Championship game, the U of M braintrust is busily discussing the replacement for Lloyd Carr.

Pearl Harbor Day
When in Hawaii I visited the Arizona Memorial. One can read about and see documentaries about the Pearl Harbor attack, but even seeing the memorial platforms brings it much closer. The oil is still leaking from the Arizona, 66 years later. It's gives pause to think about the price paid for our freedom.
Today at shul the Rabbi also spoke about Pearl Harbor and gave prayers for our Armed Forces and their victory. I know this has brought grief to those that are eager to forget the lessons of 9/11, let alone events more than 50 years ago. Those eager to forget bring a lot of damage to America and to those that love freedom everywhere. Their voices can't be allowed to drown out those that treasure freedom and support our men and women that fight to maintain it.

The curtain has all but come down on the final act of wacky legal crap about custody. It went with a whimper, the best way. A big issue I had feared turned out to be no issue during a meeting with the ex today. She'll be in an operation next Monday followed by a month of therapy. Physical therapy, that is. May ever get together with her and our kid for latkes this weekend. As long as she doesn't use 'em as throwing stars it's OK with me. Of course this will reduce martini intake for the duration but priorities are priorities.
Not to worry about the decline of domestic psychoticness. Our prize Project Managers are busily pounding those square pegs into the round holes. In their case, I think these are S-holes. Stupidly volunteered to help a project with a tedious but important task, and it's come out that this is the vendor's first attempt at his software on our platform. No tables have been successfully loaded by the project, but they're going to try to zoom into production next week. Yeehaw! Take the Hill! No. Fuck you. You want it, you take it. No hill taking without proof of comprehensive testing. And just be sure to be around in production support to take care of your abortion when it goes down and takes real live customers with it. Acidman and those hardware guys had it better: there could be real consequences and bodily damage due to pinhead ideas implemented stupidly in his business

Blast This!
at full volume, screaming into Columbus on I-71! That is, if ZZ Top isn't on tap. So are the vagaries of babitude that this song becomes relevant yet once again. But this time I'm less beer (and chili) filled. Acidman could have appreciated this.

And, now I'm back
in the groove. Or rut. Hawaii was tremendous! Beach time in December! Whoda thunkit? Meanwile my latest batch of beer ripens in bottles in the basement, awaiting that special time when I tap into whatever I threw into the batch. Son of a batch! Anyway, I've never been anywheres that smelled as good as Hawaii, except maybe one of the neighborhood bakeries when the first loaves of bread roll out to the counter.
And while Captain SQL groggily flew across America, Oklahoma and Pittsburgh conspired to make the inevitable happen. Yes, another BCS opportunity for the mighty Buckeyes! Yay! Thank you, Pittsburgh. Now get the hell out. The only casualty has been another week of King of the Hill.
I'm still feeling too good for the work week, for no good reason.

Back from Vacation yesterday bright and early. Too damp and cold. Then went into work today. Still pretty buzzed. And the world turned rightly as OSU obtained it's highly deserved place in the BCS championship while I flew.
