Still Not Much
Still frazzled, mostly over when I'll see my kid next, and how often. Not much else going on here. Erica needs major correction about Geographyness. Ohio and Indiana (Baja Ohio) are West of NYC, not South. Don't have boiled peanuts here. Only regular food. And kishkes. Whinemeal, enjoy as Me and Hoosierboy bring highbrow like entertainment to your very own browser.

Out of Steam
I'm out of witty repartee, whatever that is. Just run down. So sit back, relax and enjoy some MXC action from the golden age of Television.
It just doesn't get any better.

Blue Weekend
My get up and go got up and went. Could be some of these pain pills for the back. Did normal stuff for weekend so far. I do miss having my daughter around. Maybe when school starts Monday she'll have something else besides the eternal drama of her mom to think about, maybe not. I'll need to speak to her later in the year about applying for financial aid when it comes time to look at college, and other big-deal opportunities she might screw up. Then it's up to her. She's been a very capable girl throughout it all. But if she can't or won't go through with simple, basic things that any kid can handle like college financial aid or traveling overseas with the right documentation then there would be nothing I can do for her. She would be putting herself beyond my ability to help.
She's been under a lot of pressure over the years to reject me, from her elementary and middle school, which catered to the ex, and from her mom's congregation. I don't see a way she could not be influenced by all this. Still, there's gotta be hope.

Another weekend is here. Not much to blog about. Did see my kid midweek, not much going on there. School starts for her on Monday. Work is as groovy as ever. The babe hunt continues.

And Again!
Make way for the Brady Bunch. Tom Brady, that is. I score this highly rated QB and veteran of two Cartoon series (The Simpsons and Family Guy, it think). Not Brady Quinn. Sorry girls. Although mentioning BQ's name allows a Babe Magnet tag. Also, my fantasy team drafted Running Back Frank Gore as comical sidekick. Another good one. As opposed to AlGore (tm), Kumbiyah blowhard.
Also in Sports, the Tribe continues to dominate Detroit. So eat it, Stewie.
Still working on the old babe magnetism, but am settling down to the best Martini place in town for the preseason. Daughter is back with her mom and in a glued to mom phase, which may not survive the incipient start of school next Monday, over most of these stations.

Cappy Prevails Again!
Yep, another fine midyear review for Cappy, the Captain of SQL! I just can't loose! Even better, the latest fabulous new technology of the future is eating it bigtime on conversion costs and data scrubbing. This let's Cappy ride out the current, best technology of all like Slim Pickens in Dr. Strangelove. For those of you unfamiliar, here it is:
Last night was a winner, pretty much. Brady Quinn sure was. Looks like Derek Anderson goes down a notch. Tommy Dorsey looked OK too. Enjoyed the game from the comfort of the best Martinis in town, while being checked out by older women. No thanks on those. It's like the old song, "It's 3:00 AM Somewhere!"

Fantasy draft happens on Tuesday, still too early to fiddle around much with the rankings. The search for babeage continues in these parts. Haven't played with the Hindi translation feature yet and haven't heard lately from Michele of Letters from New York lately.

Smurftastic
My new ID badge showed up at work today. I've turned blue, for all you Ghoulardi fans that may read this. Cool it with the boom-booms! Also, my credit report says I started working in a paper mill at age 7. This may need correction.

Time to Hit LSD Again
That's Lake Shore Drive for you flatlanders. Time for me to visite my family in Chi once again, for more Kumbiyah than is legally necessary. Probably one of those weekens when OSU is playing one of those shitty MAC teams.

Saw the first Browns preseason game last night. Looked OK, but this is for players to impress coaches, and the coaches to make decisions, not for fan entertainment, primarily. Nobody's waiting for Brady Quinn to come in and save the day. They always trot out Jim Brown and Bernie Kosar, and Sam Rutigliano and Doug Dieken. Hey Romeo, how's 'bout some development to match these blastst from the past?
I spackled today. I like spackle. Spackling is good.

Really surprised by this one. I thought I'd score "unleaded".

You Are Merlot |
Smooth, confident, and popular - you're the type most likely to order wine for the whole group. You seem to breeze through life on your intuition and wit. And no one seems to mind! You're comfortable in any social situation you find yourself in, and you never feel outclassed. And while you live a charmed life, you never let it go to your head. You are truly down to earth and a great friend. Deep down you are: Balanced and mature Your partying style: Surprisingly wild... when you let loose, you really let loose Your company is enjoyed best with: Some greasy pizza |
Dy-No-Myte!
Very curious morning at the bank. There was a left-handed Chinaman there. My teller looked like Jimmy Walker from "Good Times"

Bleah
Another meeting with the ex about who has time with my daughter during holidays and vacations during the school year. Same old shit, new year. Heard it many times before. "Who knows about the future, it's too big a mystery to plan". "It's too much stress coming over to my house every other weekend". Blah blah blah. Then later the kid gets tired of or mad at the mom and she's here full time. Just cant't get worked up about it like in daze of old. Also, only 35 months on the clock o'child support, two years until the kid has to fill out college apps. Nope, not the kind of thing that makes me want to conquer the advanced technology of the future.

Sunday Morning
Time to do something or go somewhere. Picking up the kid at the airport in the evening, so that blows away tonight's episodes of King Of the Hill and American Dad. The ex will be there too. Phooey. Work is still trying to wedge in their Advanced DBMS Of The Future. But I'm still using a full screen editor.
Maybe it's time for another home project. Better see if the insurance is paid up.

Saw The Simpsons movie this afternoon. Not the worst thing I've ever seen. Earlier I saw Beavis and Butthead Do America (inspiration for posting below), and also trimmed the hedges. Too mature to make cracks about trimming the bush. No, I'm not. Don't feel much like blogging. I'm gonna let go of the gal the next town over. Running out to a movie between our two cities and wolfing down whatever we can before said movie, while she's on the phone full time once a month isn't cutting it.
