Bait and Switch, Almost
Recent department reorg left the remainder of department (me + 3 other guise) without skills on a critical set of tasks. This is onging and this is serious. We will probably be slaughtered in the near term and if surviving I can hear the faint echo of "we need you to drop everything you were hired to do and clumsily fumble around to take over tasks we stupidly dumped on the unprepared" in the future, followed later by "you've fallen behind on the Amazing SQL contribution".
If so, I plan to look for other opportunities. Hope I'm wrong. I've been there before.
