It worked
- Steroids kicking in for my back. No roid rage. Not more than normal bad coding rage.
- Brewed up something simular to mom's old Mid-Ohio Chili today, but using barley instead of rice. Pretty darn good. Would be really good with a hearty red wine; semi-sweet. Best of all during cool weather, say, while OSU is kicking ass. Ingredients: 1 mid-sized onion, 1 clove garlic, 1/3 lb. stewing beef, 1/2 cup barley, 1/2 cup mixed black-eyed pees and kidney beans. Seasonings: about 1/2 - 1 tsp each of black pepper, white pepper, red pepper, paprika, Chinese 5-spice powder. Fester in crockpot for 8 hours. Less spicy than chili, meatier and more grainy than Cholent. Proabably less explosive later.
