Dinner at my sisters tonight, with deep-fried blue friends. I mean, this is a smurf blue group. I'm tasked with beer provision. Which of these choices will cause more trouble: Shiner, a good, solid Texas brew, or Hebrew, which will invoke strong oaths of denunciation of religion in general?

If you can't live in a red area, at least be a jerkwad about it, I say!

With emancipation comes the post emancipation rant about the Cuyahoga County Domestic Relations Court, hereby referred to as Assholes in Black Robes. They set the rules of the game, deciding child custody and parenting rights by whim. My judge at the time of divorce was Christine McMonagle, who has moved on to screw up another bench. On her whim my daughter was sent to The Ratner School. I had my Ratner Rant a while ago. In my opinion, The Ratner School acted criminally, interfering with my parental rights and by continually refusing access to information guaranteed to me under Federal Law.

I didn’t take it back to court because I ran out of money to fight this. If you don’t take it to court continually then under the doctrine of Laches you can’t bring a case later. So it is a perfect world of Parental Alienation, designed, implemented and enforced by the Assholes in Black Robes.

What does it mean to you? This is the MO of the liberal. There will not be and Obama SS. No hobnail boots marching, no reeducation camps, no blue helmets. But when they decide to remake a part of America you hold dear, from owning firearms to enjoying a football game, even dropping in at McDonalds, then a million petty tyrants will regulate and litigate all of this away. And then you too can face your own Assholes in Black Robes, with no legal recourse.

The guys at work have been really first rate. Mostly, I'll miss my users in B.I. They are great to work with, and really sharp. It's been a pleasure, and only hope I can get to work with a group remotely similar in the future.

The Hammer

came down today. Big DBA wipeout. Pretty generous severance. New innovation in the last 10 years: don't have to go to Severance Hall to pick up the checks any more.

1000th Post!

Here it is. Got notice of a one-on-one tomorrow afternoon, verily the day of the chopping block. Time to deploy Plan 9. It's from outer space, after all.

Ran into the worst person I know at the JCC today, one of the wretched refuse of the recently ended Parenting Agreement. Still holding down a paycheck as of this moment.

No matter what happens at work, no matter the technology, whatever the future brings, The Steelers Suck!

Life just gets more and more like a Mike Judge production every day. And this posting doesn't even have a dang thing to do with my immediate relatives.

Emancipation Rumination

Slept in after the all-night non-incident project on-call. Boring, but better than exciting, if ya know what I mean. Woulda shoulda coulda celebrated today's daughter's emancipation, but work comes before pleasure and knowing that the shoes (and blade!) will most likely drop during the middle of the week blunts the wonder of it all.

I did take the time last night to attend services. As known to some, I am not terribly observant and my religious service attendance is scant. But it was a time to give thanks, and to pray for the best in the near future. It has been a damn good year and a half; kid graduating High School early, major scholarships, visiting NYC including seeing the lovely Erica, and etc. Lotsa good stuff. In fact, it's pretty well blunted my technical jones. But that will be back. As explained to the aforementioned Erica, it is my august assessment that we of the Hebrewite persuasion, if not a flaming hippie must choose between frum and redneck. I've got the edge on her for the latter(no pun intended, Edge), due to Wheeling, W. Va. grandparentage. But anyways, I feel at home at my shul. The Rabbi recently attended a get-together held by Christians United for Israel, and I'm glad he did this. Many of his peers feel too icky about stuff like that, such as self preservation and sticking up for their own congregants. They have no such qualms about supporting the rights of others, which is appropriate, but aren't to be seen with others supporting Jews. Brings up a lot of questions about their leadership, and confirms his. And some of these guys will vibrate with outrage if anyone even suggests actually fighting terrorism. You know, like with real firearms. And and even smaller subset are intrusive to the point of custody interference, with what they feel about this, that or the other, but damn little to say about supporting other Jews.

Oops, I've gotten sidetracked by religion. Lemme simplify above. For many Jews of the Reform and beyond branches, Tikkun Olam, the concept of small acts of kindness to repair the world has overshadowed all the rest of the religion. Repairing the World is good. IMHO, it does not translate into "rabid support of whatever brain addled ancient hippies, psychotic leftist Jew haters, or the cat can drag in". In fact, one of the greatest agents for repairing the world is the United States Armed Forces.

Anyways, so custody is over. A big relief. The court seemed to fucntion normally for once. I am sure there will be technical glitches but those can be worked out. Gotta go now. Farmville awaits.

Hearing went well today. The support agency figured they owed me money but tacked on fees for an arrearage of $83. Then when I got home they had sent me a check for $256 refund. If you ask me, the entire county government is an arrearage.

Weekend Clusterfuck

is on the way. Tomorrow, a hearing at Cuyahoga County courthouse to end support. Other counties handle this as a matter of procedure without in-person hearings complete with lawyers, but other counties don't have inferior judges such as Christine McMonagle. Then Saturday wee hours of the morning it's an all night on call party for work.

T minus 1 Week left until the hearing about end of Child Support for the psycho ex. Pretty quiet in that area, except for some whining from the psycho last weekend. Still, one must have faith in our Cleveland judiciary. Rock bottom jurisprudence at rock bottom prices. My daughter is wrapping up her last weekend here before heading back to the big city. I have intercepted an email from her current boyfriend. The guy is really harsh on liberals. Midwestern, Jewish, techie, football fan. Hey, I like this guy! Don't tell anyone.

As opposed to immediate family members. A dinner this week wasn't too bad. But you'd think with Barack Hussein Obama firmly in charge these hippies would kindly shut the fuck up with the whining about the USA. I mean, it this doesn't do it , of what use is the current President?

An on-call schedule change has relieved me of non-drinking duties when the axe is lowered in a couple of weeks. At least that's a small benefit. I plan to make use of it, too. Meanwhile, after shipping the papoose off Sunday my gal will be able to relax, and enjoy the sweet hotness that is Captain SQL!!!!!!!

Shoe Droppings are On the Way

at work, as long expected. It's never any fun. At least nobody's planning a belly dancer, as nearly happened on my 35th birthday. But our fine, highly professional DBA staff is approaching the impending date of headcutcounts with quiet dignity.

It's going to hit 120 hours after my frigging final Child Support hearing. And in between I go on call, so there's almost no chance for drinking between unpleasantries.

Go Galt Now, From the Comfort of Your Own Home!

And cold comfort it is today, peeps. A nice, steady snow over Greater Cleveland and Vicinity this week while I have been entertaining my daughter home from college has left much of the sides of the driveway layered in alternating strata of ice, snow, icy-snowy crap, and glacier like hard ice. All of this spells doom for those unfortunates to veer from the true path of the driveway. And this morning that was me. Even without the purchase of a vowell. After a 15 minute mighty struggle involving digging, and SQL Car Rocking knowledge I dislodged the clunker from said snowpile and went on my merry(?) way.

Anyways, back to Galt. Now at T - 13 days from final support hearing. After which my impulse is to go home, blog, bitch, whine, send money to good guys. And if I ever get a chance to move to one of the adjacent counties yonder from the Blue Cesspool of Cuyahoga, I would like very much to do so. Thousands have been doing so over the years. Even deep-dyed-liberals. They followed the job opportunities the hell outta here. So it's not even a question of wanting to Go Galt, you have to. To keep working, unless your are a bottom feeder.

Peeps, it's accelerating, as we slide down the tubes from a pretty nice place to becoming DeToilet. Just this week, Brooklyn (Ohio) based American Greetings announced it was ticked at the local income tax increase, and may remove from that city. Boy the whining about betraying the community, and selling out the pee pull has been intense. And about what big greedheads the owners are.

Well, how's bout the pee pull that work at Greetings? What if the company relocates to a nearby suburb without lower income taxes? That would benefit the pee pull that work there. Not just the owners. See, that is how America works. The company is privately held. The government doesn't have a say about facility location. That lower city income tax the employees may get would be a bigger beneift that any collection of screaming hippies could ever hope to deliver to them.

Also this week an adjacent school district, the one where Cappy graduated, which is a darling of the extended pinky crowd announced they want to extend the school day. Again with the leftie screaming! Since Cappy et. al. graced (greased?) those hollowed halls, the place has declined apace with every stupid social engineering concept the board could toss at the unsuspecting little bastards. Net result: Districts rated excellent in this county have 20% more classroom instruction time than Berkely East. WTF?

The Goode Family starts on Comedy Central tomorrow at 10:00 PM. Just in time for football to taper off. This really reduces the need to blog for me. Mike Judge says it all. My opportunity to be a bastard without being a bastard.
