Things were going fine with the early AM testing until I couldn't sleep much Wednesday night/Thursday AM. It's damn hard to come back from that! Still zobmified early this afternoon. Some issues may be resolved with the ex. That's a big fat maybe. It's never over, for certain.

Back to early in the AM start, which isn't bad. Major project is filling up the time between now and mid-July. The new DBA is going to get a steaming heap of this stuff too, for weekend relief. Happy Happy, Joy Joy.

Taking a little time off now, as result of Saturday. Back to the milkman run tomorrow. Things should ease up with the brand new DBA. Still a lot of sleep problems. Guess that's part of life now.

Up with the birdies at 4:45 AM today for three days of grueling system test observation. Then locking tests over the weekend, topped off with a likely all-nighter on Sunday evening for partitioning. That's an all-nighter as in work, not beer. Then more earlybird testing next week. I like working early and shutting off managers flying out of meetings with new paradigms.

It's a spirit, it's a committment, it's a spear-mittment!

OK. Enough whining from Cappy. A rough year so far and all that. Too much grief from the ex after 10 years apart but that won't last forever. And I'm healthy (physically), and have a job where I like the work, and get paid OK too. The new DBA is on the way, and next week starts the one month period of weird early AM and weekend testing. So pull up a cup of coffee and enjoy!

More sleep problems this week as Cappy works through the irritating reality of putting together his daughter's summer schedule, and wrapping up involvement in projects in order to start the wonderful world of performance. The summer schedule isn't even the mom's fault. As noted before I've had to backtrack from performance until there is a replacement for me in the old job. We've got one and he starts in about a week. In the meantime I'm down to one project. The other ones (that are getting dumped) don't like it, but project numero uno has a lock on the wee hours of the morning and entire weekends for the next month. So the others get zilch.

Hey guys, if you're looking for a DBA to make your wildest dreams come true, hire Pedro from Napoleon Dynamite.

Swindle
The annual swindle over my daughter's test scores has begun. The ex showed me her scores. Then she conveniently forgot to copy them for me. This will continue until I get overwhelmed with stuff at work and go away, and she'll never send me a copy. Later on the "better people" will tell me "tsk-tsk, you never cared enough to get her test scores."

Overwhelmed
That's me. I'll lay it on the line. Cappy is irreplacable. If it was so easy to do, they would have hired a replacement at work by now. Cappy is bidding good bye to the fair land of performance tuning and turning back to the turgid swirling mass of unruly projects. Fending off avaracious vendors and bulk-filled project managers.

It was really unpleasant going back to the office after the long weekend of trying to undo the ex's damage.

Had a decent vacation with my daughter. Actually, a decent time off work. The ex gave me the scholarship application she refused to sign. I passed it on to one of my kid's teachers. This was the one that proclaimed my ex as "the greatet person in the world". Let him fix this wreck. He's always backed the ex. Screw 'em.

The ex is out of town, looking for a place to move my daughter so she'll never see me again. Attorneys have been notified.

This is too much drama, and too many years of it.

Gotta update the links on this blog. A lot of them have gone 404.
