The ex went to the emergency room last night while I was out. She returned but my kid was with her. Of course I got the whole drama queen BS about "not being there for her".

That's strange. I was there when the ex encouraged my kid not to spend the holidays with me as scheduled. The ex drags the kid overseas, and there's never any concern about me "being there for her". Other divorced parents have social lives, even get married but I'm guilty if I have one and am not immediately available.

As long as I'm in town and can pick up messages, I'm "there" for my kid.

The Kerry-Edwards people called today, from downstate. They offered to remind me where my polling place is located. Of course, they gave me the wrong address. Duly reported to the Bush-Cheney people, and 866-myvote-1.

Stress is getting out of hand with respect to the court date. I've started to look at other attorneys. If I lose this one, is there any reason to get up in the morning?

Paid $6.00 to see Team America yesterday. It rocked!

Very tired. The 3:00 AM express rolled by last night nuking two hours of sleep and I had to get up early to go to the dentist. The 3:00 AM express is when I (almost always) wake up at 3:00 AM. Usually I get enough sleep, but last night I didn't. Been the walking dead today. Upcoming court hearing is to blame I think.

My daughter is pouty. I think it goes with the teen-age territory. Maybe she's pissed off that I'm pissed off about being insulted at school events. Too bad. I'll continue to be pissed off when insulted, and she'll hear about it too.

The court appearance may have been triggered by my attorney misspelling the ex's last name for her signature. I'm paying a lot of $$$ and time off for that mistake if true.

I have asked friends and relatives to stop sending me political e-mail. My complaints here are the tip of the iceberg. If they haven't caught on about what I think, then they've always been ignoring me.

I hated today's outing for my kid's school. It's always insulting. I had a hard time bringing myself to go there, and let her know it too. There's nothing in the Parenting Agreement saying I have to love those bastards. Her mom is liable for encourgaging her to see me.

I've come up with a game to kill the time until the goddam school ends and she can go to regular school. I'll give so many points for obnoxious people I meet at each event, such as

Bigshots - 2 points
Opinionated Blowhards - 4 points
Psycho Ex-Wives - 4 points

Lunch with the Mayor today. Not with our local terrorist-loving lamo. I sit down to lunch at my favorite deli, and 10 minutes later former Mayor Ed Koch of New York shows up. Cool.

Things have settled down a bit at work. May be going for a class in the Big City just before Thanksgiving. Might take my kid to State this weekend. That's always a nice trip in the fall. And maybe it's time to take a stab at fixing up the basement this winter.

Still in overload about the hearing. Sleep is still a problem. Going back to a more normal schedule next week and I hope it helps.

Leave It to the Court!
After the change to the parenting agreement was signed, sealed, notarized, affidavited the judge wants the Magistrate to review it. Both me and the ex are angry about this. My attorney is puzzled. I'm having him go with me to the hearing.

Better Weekend than Last
Yes, it was a better weekend. My kid was here without any problem and I managed to support two around the clock projects without missing a beat. Of course, perception is reality. So I'll take a deferred half day of vacation tomorrow and get some estimates on stuff at home and it shouldn't upset the balance of the universe. But one never knows. Someday I will be out of town, or sleep through that call, or simply not think to check e-mail around the clock on the weekend and that will be the end.
